Getting to the Languedoc:  Hitch Hiking

In many respects the Languedoc has not yet caught up with the horrors of modern society. One consequence of this is that hitch-hiking is still quite common and safe, as it is throughout the South of France.
Be aware that,
(a) As in most countries, you cannot hitch on motorways (Autoroutes)
(b) Although hitch-hiking is still relatively easy in the Languedoc, it is less easy in Northern France.
(c) Times are slowly changing, for the worse.
