Geography: Rivers and Lakes in the Languedoc: The River Orb

The Orb rises in the Massif Central at an elevation of 820 m. Its basin, some 1,400 km, lies entirely within Southern France.

It is 145 km long, and flows through the Hérault département. It is crossed by the The Canal du Midi at Béziers.

The river Orb flows into the Gulf of Lyon (Mediterranean Sea) at Valras-Plage, discharging on average discharge 25 cubic meters per second.
