Geography: Rivers and Lakes in the Languedoc: The River Tech

The River Tech rises in the Pyrenees and flows through the Roussillon (the modern Pyrénées-Orientales) close to the present French-Spanish border.

It runs through a valley in the Pyrénées-Orientales and is approximately 82km long. Its source is in the Parcigoule Valley at an elevation of 2,500 meters above sea level.

The basin area is 750 km² - lying entirely in France, and the average discharge is 9.6 cubic meters per second.

The Tech flows into the Mediterranean Sea between Saint-Cyprien and Argelès-sur-Mer, southeast of Perpignan.
