Vernet-les-Bains. (Roussillon) Geological Museum. Suitable for all ages. 4 exhibition rooms. Guided tours in 4 languages (including English). The Fossils (mainly marine), represent all the geological stages covering a period from - 550 million years (beginning of the primary era) till - 2 million years (dawn of humanity). There are very few comprehensive geological collections like this in France accessible to the general public. The Museum is supported by the University, the Academy and the Departmental Board of Tourism.
April, May, October : from 10 a.m. till 12 a.m. and from 2 p.m. till 6 p.m. June, July, August, September : from 9.30 a.m. till 12 a.m. and from 2 p.m. till 6 p.m. November till March : from Wednesdays till Sundays (only in the afternoon)
